Heraklion has two bus stations, the Central Station and the Chanioporta Station, so check which one your route uses before you set off. The Central Station is at Ikarou Avenue 9, 71306.
Buying tickets
You can buy electronically, but print the confirmation and have it with you at departure. There's also an app for schedules, buying tickets and live departure updates, and the live tracking helps you time your arrival at the station. We couldn't find any other way to buy described, so electronic purchase looks like the main route.

There are plenty of concession fares:
- Students: 50% off between home and school, 25% off other routes
- Disability card holders (67% or higher): 50% off all intercity routes
- Large families (polyteknon): 50% off all routes
- Three-child families: 25% off all routes
- Military ID holders: 15% off
- Police and fire service: 50% off with ID, free when on official duty with a service note
Children up to six travel free, with a parent showing ID.
Refunds on unused tickets
Cancel at least 8 hours before departure and you get 70% of the fare back. Cancel within 8 hours and it drops to 50%.
