Finding it: Irakleio has two KTEL Irakleiou-Lasithiou terminals: this Central Station on Leoforos Ikarou, and a second Chanioporta Station at Machis Kritis 3 serving other routes — check which one your route uses.

Two stations, not one

Heraklion has two KTEL stations, and it matters which one you head for. This page covers the Central Station, also called Bus Station A, near the port on Ikarou Avenue. The other is Chanioporta, at 3 Machis Kritis by the gate under the Venetian walls, which handles services to inland and southern destinations. Check which terminal your service uses before you walk anywhere.

Tickets and luggage

Buy tickets at the kiosk or ticket office rather than from the driver: boarding fares are higher, and on a full bus the driver may not sell you one. The luggage hold under the bus is free to use.

From the airport

You can reach the Central Station from the airport by city bus or by taxi. If you are heading east, some services may let you board at the airport instead of going into town first.
